Mountain Climbing…well kinda!

I don't know about you, but I have just discovered walking (sounds silly doesn't it?) and realised its many benefits and how much it is agreeing with me. For so long now I thought I should be running as it would burn the most calories/increase my fitness more/tone etc etc but it is so refreshing to have this change and give my body a well deserved break. Not only is it one of the best forms of exercise because of its low impact and zero stress factor, but its such a good way to catch up with a friend, soak up the atmosphere and start your day off well!

I have become accustomed now to getting up most mornings and going straight out for a walk. So on Sunday Dave and I decided to start the day off on a good note and took off for our usual Dee Why to Long Reef walk. We saw lots of sites along the way and ended up at a little deserted beach that was only accessible by walking over these massive rocks. When I got there I decided I really wanted to feel alive and proceeded to strip off (had my togs on!) and jump in the 17 degree water! It was quite a shock but so exhilarating and well – certainly felt alive after that! We couldn't go much further as the tide was so high so the only option was to go back the way we came or scale the cliff ! We took the latter and as you will see from my photo I did it in style, swimmers and thongs!

Anyways had a great morning and felt unbelievable when we got home. Moral of the story – you don't have to beat your body up to feel and look and feel good. Do something different next weekend and put your joggers on and get out there!

Til next time.
