So the other day my friend Eden came along to group training and took some photos of the crew doing their thing. It was quite a lovely morning for it and he ended up with some really good shots. I will be putting some of those up onto the Website under group training so keep an eye out for them!

For those who missed out have no fear – we will catch some celebrity shots soon at another group training session soon.

Just in regards to boxing – wanted to fill you in with some info on why core is so involved and why we really need to think about engaging the core if we want a good punch.

TECHNIQUE TIP # 3 "Drop" before "Driving"

Let me explain: Imagine you are throwing a Right Cross into a punching bag.

Guard up, side on stance, chin down, on the balls of your feet. Now while keeping your Chakras in place (centred, balanced and a straight torso), "Squat" or "Drop" a few inches to the floor by bending your legs…not your back !

This is like compressing a spring, and "collects your power" before releasing it as you actually thump the bag…or your boss. It also works your legs and your core. So keep a strong upper body, good chakras, then "drop" and "drive" the punch, twisting the torso, the hips – with everything you've got !
