Flip the Switch

Just got back from a walk and feel so rejuvenated and refreshed. Even though I had a really bad sleep (thanks to the hubby) I decided instead of lying in bed and being grumpy with him, get up and do a walk and hey, if I need to sleep later I can. So off we set and did our usual walk up Darley road, through the gorgeous track down to Shelley and then along the beach until we stopped at our favourite little cafe where we had breakfast and coffee. Yes I am still a little tired but I completely changed my mind frame around and now will have a fantastic day.

One of my favourite ways to change negative feelings to positive feelings is to “flip the switch”.

“Flip the switch” is a very simple, but very effective way to go from attracting what you don’t want to attracting what you do want in your life.

The premise behind flip the switch is that when you find yourself in a bad mood or having a bad day, you need to find some way to turn off your negative feelings and turn your focus towards positive feelings.

You can do this in a number of ways, such as listening to your favourite music, going for a walk like I did, watching a funny show, or reading an inspirational book.

According to Dr. Anthony who wrote the book ‘know how to be rich’, you only need 17 seconds to shift your focus from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. If you can hold a positive thought for 17 seconds, it will cancel out the negative thoughts you were feeling.

So to practice “flip the switch” find something in your life that you can focus on for at least 17 seconds to change your bad thoughts to good thoughts.

For me, good music can change my feelings from negative to positive in an instant. So my “flip the switch” strategy is to listen to some of my favourite songs when I’m feeling bad or having a bad day.

What activity or thing can you do to flip your switch when you’re having a bad day?
