Bircher Muesli
Bircher Muesli was developed around 1900 by Swiss physician Maximillian Bircher-Brenner for his patients and is still a very popular breakfast throughout Germany and Switzerland. It originally called for more fresh fruit and was soaked overnight.
Here is my make of this creamy deliciousness!
Ingredients:
2 cups of rolled oats
1 ¾ cups of rice milk
1 grated apple
1 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt
1/3 cup of slivered almonds
1/3 cup of pumpkin seeds
½ cup of raisons
Dash of cinnamon
Top with berries
Method
Combine the oats, milk and sit for an hour
Combine the grated apple, honey, yogurt, nuts, dried fruit and cinnamon and mix together well
Top with your favourite berries
