My run

Yesterday I decided to go for a beach run. I hadn't really moved for a few days and was feeling like I needed to do something so I set of for a walk along the beach. I do love walking, it really does calm the mind and its such a good way to slow down in this life and take in your surroundings and fully appreciate life. However yesterday I wanted to sweat and feel that 'euphoric' runners high so I set off on a run along the stretch if sand towards Collaroy. It took about 5 minutes but before I knew it I was striding out and enjoying my run.  Now I don't run often and I am certainly not a 'runner' but it is important to keep up your fitness and a run is certainly going to help you achieve this. Ive done alot of reading up on the whole 'slow cardiovascular exercise' and how it is uselss for trying to lose fat and weight and it is best to go with short bursts and weights and yes the evidence does add up and if you are serious about losing weight you will need to employ other strategies…but you know what? I have discovered that life is so much more enjoyable when you do exercise that feels right and makes you feel good. I also think that any exercise is better then non at all! So next time you feel like going for one of those 'long cardio runs' GO FOR IT!!
